What Cookies Are and Why We Use Them
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so it can recognize your device on the next request. First-party cookies are set by MeetEurope; third-party cookies are set by a service we embed. Session storage is cleared when you close the browser, while persistent storage survives until it expires or you delete it. We use these technologies for security, session continuity, saved preferences and aggregated measurement of how the site performs.
Categories of Cookies
Cookies on this site fall into four categories, and only the first is set without your permission.
- Strictly necessary. Session identifiers, login state, form protection and the record of your consent decision. Without them, accounts, sign-in and secure browsing do not work, so they cannot be disabled.
- Analytics. Aggregated, pseudonymized measurement of page views, navigation paths and errors. We use it to see which country and blog pages are useful, never to build an advertising profile of an individual.
- Functional. Preferences you set yourself, such as accessibility and display options or a dismissed notice, so the site does not repeat itself on every visit.
- Marketing. Storage used to measure the performance of our own campaigns. It is set only with consent and remains off if you decline.

No hidden third parties
If we later add a third-party analytics or advertising provider, it will appear in this table with its own name, purpose and retention period before it is deployed, and it will remain blocked until you consent to that category.
How to Manage Cookie Settings
You have two independent sets of controls. On this site, the consent manager lets you accept or reject each optional category and change that decision later; your choice is stored for twelve months or until you clear it. In your browser, Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all allow you to block cookies, delete existing ones or open a private window under Settings → Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in, saved preferences and account security features, so we do not recommend it while using an account.
Under the GDPR, consent must be explicit and freely given, and you may withdraw it at any time. Under the CCPA, California residents receive the same level of service whether or not they exercise their privacy rights - declining optional cookies never limits your access to member features. Retention and Policy Updates
Each item expires on the schedule listed above, and we review the inventory periodically so that unused storage is removed. When a change is material - a new category, a new provider or a longer retention period - we update the date at the top of this page and ask for consent again before the change takes effect.
