Privacy at a Glance
We collect the data needed to run a dating service: account details, profile content, verification records, limited technical data and payment confirmations from our processor. We use it to operate the platform, moderate it and keep it lawful. Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted, and retention is limited. You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Information We Collect
We collect personal data in five groups. Account data includes your email address, password hash, country of residence, date of birth and membership status. Profile content is what you publish yourself: photos, description, languages, relationship goal and search preferences. Verification data covers the identity document image and selfie you submit for review, plus the outcome and date of that review. Communications and metadata include support tickets you send us, reports you file, and message routing records such as timestamps and recipient account IDs. Device and technical data covers IP address, browser type, device type and pages viewed. Payment records reach us from our payment processor as a confirmation, an expiry date and the last four digits of a card. We never receive or store your full card number.
Optional by design
Only email, password, date of birth and country are required to hold an account. Photos, profile text, verification and payment details are supplied when you choose to use the features that need them.
How We Use Personal Information
Each purpose is tied to a specific type of data. Account and profile data run the service and make your profile discoverable in country and preference searches. Verification data is used solely to confirm that a member is a real person matching their photos, and to grant or withdraw verified status. Communications metadata and reports support moderation, abuse investigation and fraud prevention. Technical data keeps the platform secure and diagnoses faults. Payment confirmations manage membership, renewals and refunds. Legal obligations, such as responding to a lawful request, may require limited retention. Marketing email is sent only with your consent and can be withdrawn from any message.

Security, Encryption and Data Retention
Protection combines transport security, storage encryption, access control and limited retention. Traffic between your browser and MeetEurope is protected with TLS, and stored account, profile and verification records are encrypted at rest using AES-256. Administrative access is role-based, logged and limited to staff who need it for moderation, support or billing. We state this plainly: private messages are encrypted in transit and at rest, but they are not end-to-end encrypted, because moderators must be able to review reported conversations for abuse and fraud.
Verification images are retained only as long as needed to complete and audit the review, then deleted. Account and profile data are kept while your account is active. When you request deletion, we remove your profile from public view immediately and erase or de-identify the underlying records within 30 days, except where a limited record must be kept for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
Retention in practice
- Active accounts: data retained for as long as the account exists.
- Deletion request: profile removed from search immediately, records erased or de-identified within 30 days.
- Payment and tax records: retained for the period required by applicable law.
- Abuse and fraud records: limited identifiers retained to prevent a banned member from returning.
- Server and security logs: retained on a short rolling window, then overwritten.
Your Rights Under GDPR and CCPA
Your rights depend on where you live, but we apply the same request process to everyone. If the General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, you may request access to the personal data we hold, correction of inaccurate data, a portable copy in a machine-readable format, restriction of processing, objection to processing based on legitimate interest, and erasure. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing that already took place.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know which categories of personal information we collect and disclose, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. MeetEurope does not sell personal information. Exercising a privacy right will never degrade the service you receive or change your membership price.
How to make a request
Send your request from the email address registered to your account, or submit it from inside your account settings. We confirm identity using that account ownership check rather than asking for extra documents; never email us passwords or copies of identity documents. We acknowledge requests promptly and respond within 30 days, extendable once where a request is complex. Some data may be withheld where an exception applies, such as records we must keep for legal compliance or to protect another member. If you are unsatisfied with our answer, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember interface preferences, measure aggregate usage and protect against automated abuse. Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to function. General account issues are better handled through our contact page, and common questions about verification and account data are answered on the FAQ page. If our response does not resolve your concern, you may escalate to the data protection authority in your country of residence.

Registration is free, no payment card is required, and every data point we hold is listed above. Create an account, browse verified members, and delete everything with one request if the platform is not for you.
Deletion requests are completed within 30 days, subject to the legal exceptions described in this policy.
